Somewhere in Japan

Making sushi is an art, and experience is everything.

Tokyo (東京) is the capital and largest city of Japan as well as the most populous metropolitan area in the world.

We travelled to Tokyo during the Easter holidays and a major highlight of the trip was definitely sushi!

The first day, we had lunch at a sushi restaurant near the Akihabara station (秋葉原). It was a very intimate kaiten sushi style restaurant and everything was good! Never thought that the fish would taste so much different, even the rice used to prepare nigiri was a lot fluffier and lighter than what I was used to.

The next day, we had lunch at one of the many sushi restaurants at the Tsukiji Fish Market (築地市場). All of them were full of people during lunchtime so we had to queue up for quite a bit, however it was worth the wait as they served the freshest sushi I have ever had!

p.s. Apart from the delicious fish, the tamagoyaki (Japanese style omelette) was equally amazing!

And of course the delicious nigiri and sashimi sets!
